- Strip wax - applied to larger areas for removal with a wax strip.
- Non-Strip (Hot wax) - applied to all Intimate and smaller areas, removed without a wax strip.

Waxing is only one part of the process for smooth hair free skin!

Pregnancy - Waxing: First, Second and Third Trimester you can have all Waxing treatments but please be aware your hair, body and skin may effect the results and you can be more sensitive. A previous history of miscarriage, there is no reason why you can’t be waxed but it is always best to check with your GP or healthcare provider first before you book an appointment.
Preparation and Aftercare Guide
Before your waxing treatment.
- Allow the hairs to grow for a minimum of 4 weeks, as hair growth varies the majority of the hair needs to be 1cm.
- With regular waxing you won't find waxing as sensitive and will notice sparser regrowth. The recommended gap between appointments to get/keep the hair growth at a similar hair growth cycle is between 4-6 weeks (28-42 days): 4-5 weeks if you are new and have a lot of growth. 5-6 weeks when the hair is sparser.
- It takes regular waxes before the majority of the hair is on a similar growth cycle. The hair growth cycle is made up of several phases - the growing phase, transitional phase, resting phase. Which means each strand goes through its own independent phase and not together with the other hairs. If the hairs are not all on similar cycles then the wax may not be able to remove tiny hairs less than 5mm, the odd little hair can be tweezed but some little hairs may have to be left to grow for the next appointment.
- Keep the skin wax ready by moisturising daily and drinking enough water, hydrated skin is very important, dehydrated skin is prone to irritation and the hair is dry and brittle.
- Keep the skin wax ready by exfoliating gently a few times a week or more to remove the build up of dead skin, don’t scrub too hard and remember to exfoliate a day or two before your treatment, not on the day to avoid irritation.
- You can exfoliate with Ruff Stuff Bodycare sugar scrub, ideal for smaller areas, Claire stocks Ruff Stuff Mint Please text to order.
- You can exfoliate with A bit of rough wash cloth, ideal for full body exfoliation, even your back! Claire Stocks A bit of rough wash cloth please text to order.
- Do not have any heat treatments (e.g. sunbathing, sauna, sunbeds etc.) 24 hours prior to the waxing treatment.
- If the hair is long the hair will be trimmed at your appointment to the correct length if necessary.
- It is preferred that you don't trim before your appointment in case you trim too short, 1cm in length is required.
- If the hair is too short it will make the wax more uncomfortable, it will take longer and the results may not be the best finish as some hairs may be too short for the wax to grab.
- Please arrive clean and fresh.
- Please no perfume, no moisturisers/oils, no talc, no make-up (facial waxing), no deodorant (for underarm)
- If showering before your appointment you must do so more than 2 hours before the treatment to allow the skin to cool down, this is important as the warm water softens the skin and can cause trauma and irritation.
- If you have your period on wax day and are having a Hollywood, Brazilian or G-String wax just use a fresh tampon (or menstrual cup) and pop the string just inside with the tampon so its completely out of the way and let me know. If you are uncomfortable being waxed on your period, please do not book until you are sure you can make the appointment.
- Wear loose clean clothing, fresh underwear is recommended for after intimate bikini waxing.
Tight clothing will rub against the freshly waxed area. - Wear old/inexpensive clothing. Products that stain are used during treatments and cleaning products used on the couch and chair can stain and may not wash out of certain materials.
- You can moisturise straight away after waxing with aloe vera or a natural oil such as mineral or grapeseed oil.
- For 24-48 hours avoid friction, tight clothing, do not go to the gym, swimming or have heat treatments (e.g. no hot showers or baths, no sunbathing, no sauna, no hot tubs).
- Do not apply other moisturisers (aloe vera or natural oil is fine), No deodorant, No makeup, No perfume, No fake tan or any products to the area for 24-48 hours.
- Erythema, temporary redness, soreness, small bumps, little white bumps, histamine reaction, these may occur after the treatment but should start to subside in 24-48 hours. Also a thin layer of antiseptic sudocream can be applied.
- 3 days after waxing very gently exfoliate 3 times a week or more with a sugar scrub or a gentle exfoliation cloth. You can buy these from Claire. This is very important as it removes the dead skin cells allowing the hairs to easily grow and not become ingrown, it also lifts the hair off the skin in preparation for the next wax.
- Moisturise daily with aloe vera, mineral or grapeseed oil, do this when the skin is still wet after your shower.
- Do not shave, pluck, trim or use any hair removal methods in between waxing treatments.
- You'll get a much better, less reactive and less painful waxing experience by exfoliating and moisturising a few times a week and to keep the hair growth at a similar growth cycle book in every 4-6 weeks (28-42 days): 4-5 weeks if you have a lot of growth. 5-6 weeks when the hair becomes sparser.
